Young People's Creative Therapy
Young people have a huge amount going on under the surface and can be hard for them to put it into words. Creative therapy offers them a confidential, pressure-free space where they can work through what is going on for them using creative activities or talking if that is what they want. Using creativity helps young people to process their feelings and emotions without needing to explain, and the support of a therapist helps them to understand more clearly what they are feeling to find a way through. As their therapist I reflect and hold their feelings and ensure that they are emotionally and physically safe at all times. This helps young people to process what they are going through and builds resilience, confidence and self-esteem. Success depends on a strong trusting relationship developing between therapist and young person which is why initially I offer a minimum of 10 sessions. If you'd like to find out more, book a free 15 minute call.
Who I work with
Young people aged 12-18 (25 if SEN or care leavers) who are experiencing anger, stress, anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, behavioural difficulties, family breakdown, change and trauma.
